So why Ataraxis Farms?

We often get asked -  “What does Ataraxis mean?” and “Why did you choose that name?”

For us, Ataraxis isn’t just a word - it’s a feeling. It comes from the Greek language and means the absence of mental stress and anxiety.  And that’s exactly how we felt from the very first moment we saw this place.

When we first found this place, we weren’t just looking for a farm - we were looking for space to breathe. A slower rhythm. A home where we could grow, create, and connect with nature and community. The moment we stepped onto the property, we felt it - that quiet kind of calm that seeps into your bones and makes you feel grounded. That was our Ataraxis.

So when it came time to choose a name, there really was no other choice. Ataraxis Farms became more than just a name - it became our reminder to live simply, to nurture the land, to create with care, and to share that same sense of calm with others through everything we do.

Every handmade product, every leaf and flower collected carries a little bit of that spirit. And when people visit or take a piece of the farm home, we hope they feel it too - that same peaceful connection that inspired it all.
