Tucked away in Fawcetts Plain (Kyogle), Northern NSW, Australia, Ataraxis Farms is our off-grid, slow-living patch where everything we grow and create is rooted in intention.
Our name, Ataraxis, means the absence of stress and mental anxiety - and that feeling sits at the heart of everything we do. The first time we stepped onto this land, it offered us a breath-out moment. Now, we share that feeling through the plants we grow and the products we make.
Our farm is nestled in the heart of the Northern Rivers region of NSW, Australia. Located in the gateway to the rainforest, we’re close to iconic destinations like Byron Bay, Nimbin, and other idyllic spots in the Northern Rivers. Surrounded by lush landscapes, rolling hills, and pristine farmland, our location captures the essence of rural Australia while staying just a short drive from these vibrant local towns and creative communities.
Ataraxis Farms is built on simple guiding principles:
Care for the Land: Healthy soil grows strong, vibrant plants and cattle.
Work with Nature: Off-grid, solar-powered, rainwater-fed, with minimal, respectful interventions.

We focus on plants that thrive naturally in our climate and suit the way we grow - slowly, intentionally and with respect for the land.
On our patch, the Australian natives we grow are Bush Mint and Strawberry Gum. They’re resilient, beautifully aromatic, and deeply connected to the Australian landscape, which makes them a natural fit for the grounding products we create.
We also grow selected varieties of lavender - even though she’s a bit of a diva in our warm, humid conditions. Lavender doesn’t naturally love humidity, so every harvest comes with extra care, close watching and a little bit of stubborn determination on our part. But the reward is worth it: when she thrives, she brings the most calming scent and gentle benefits to our small-batch blends.

Everything we create is made right here on our off-grid farm. We grow, harvest, infuse, blend and bottle in small batches so every product stays fresh, honest and close to the source. Nothing rushed, nothing mass-produced, just real products made with real care.

At Ataraxis Farms, we’re big believers in choosing materials that respect the land we live on. That’s why you’ll find our products packaged in glass wherever possible.
We choose sturdy, reusable bottles and jars because we want them to live on well past their first use. Our customers repurpose them for dried herbs, seeds, crafts, or home storage - and we love seeing that.
Glass is endlessly recyclable. No down-cycling, no hidden nasties, no plastic shedding into the environment. When you’re living off-grid and working closely with the land, you see first-hand how important it is to keep waste to a minimum.
